Terror Australis Garrison

‘Twas in Knightfall before Xmas,
And all through the Garrison
There were few who could troop
Despite Fish’s harrasin’.

The weather was bleak
And the rain sheeted down.
But we knew armour floats
So at least we won’t drown!

So we donned our white armour,
We tightened our kits.
Then we marched out to glory,
And to go do our bit.

For we trooped for the kiddies,
In the bleak pouring rain…
Though quite often sidestepping
All the lakes ’round the drains.

In a sea of umbrellas
In the mist of festive cheer
We strode forth for the Empire
And cried “Christmas is here!”

After several damp hours
And many photos taken
We called it a day
Our task unforsaken.

For no rain, nor snow,
Nor gloom of night,
Can keep a Knightfaller
From fighting the fight.

And Christmas was saved
From soggy disaster
By the Emperor’s finest…
With waterproof blasters.

Earlier in the year TK-6273 created two helmets to help out a sick little girl Leah Esquenazi.  She is suffering form an undiagnosed medical condition.  The helmets are being used to raise money to help the family.

Clone Wars voice actor Stephen Stanton has been using these helmets to help raise awareness for the family.  The helmets were first displayed at FanDays 2011 in Texas.  6273 travelled to the convention to help with the task of getting the helmets covered in signatures from Star Wars Celeberities and personalities attending FanDays.

Once the convention was over Stephen Stanton took the helmets to Long Beach Comic Con and to some voice recording sessions of The Clone Wars to continue collecting signatures.

These helmets will be auctioned off starting on Nov 25^th.  Some of the signatures include Stephen Stanton, Dave Filoni, Tom Kane, Rick Fitts, Stephen Sansweet, Seth Green, and many many more.

This weekend (October 15^th and 16^th) see the troopers from the Desert Scorpion Squad in Western Australia attend Channel 7’s Telethon fundraiser.

This is the 3^rd year the troops have attended the Kids’ Carnival and Phone Room, but the first under the title of their newly formed squad.

The troops can been seen from 10am-12 midday both Saturday and Sunday at the Kids Carnival, held in the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, before heading over to the Phone Room from 1pm-3pm on the Sunday afternoon.

Star Wars In Character featured a very special guest, Stephen Stanton, known for his voice actor rolls in Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. This episode is quite exciting, as Stephen talks about his roles, and the main factor is that tells the hosts about Princess Leah, the little girl who has been suffering from a mysterious illness and how her family face medical bills of over $2,000,000. Another factor that makes this latest episode so brilliant is that TAG members of Thylacine Squad in Tasmania and our squad leader get a mention by Stephen himself, telling the listeners that Squad Members have made two helmets to send over to Fan Days to help support the Esquenazi family. The Princess Leah Blog can be used to check up on the family’s situation.

On October 22nd & 23rd 2011 the Melbourne exhibition centre and Auditorium will host the 2011 Melbourne Armageddon Expo.  Of course the 501st and members from all over the Terror Australis Garrison will be in attendance.

Ever wanted to know what it takes to be a trooper?  How uncomfortable those suits are to wear?  Why the troopers can’t shoot to save their lives?  Stop by the 501st table and find out.  All the information you will need to start your path to service in the Empire will be available.

There’s no better place to find out than by asking your local troopers.  Coming from out of state?  There will be Troopers from other Garrisons in Australia attending the show.  Feel free to ask them questions.

501st Legion member Jacob French has embarked on an amazing journey which is taking him across four states as he treks on foot from Perth, Western Australia to Sydney, New South Wales. This epic trek will see Jacob travel about 5000 kilometers, whilst wearing his Stormtrooper armor.
