Terror Australis Garrison

2009 see’s the return of the Imperial forces of the 501st Legion’s Terror Australis Garrison to Armageddon. This year they are joining forces with their sister organisation and arch enemies the Rebel Legion’s Tatooine Base. Last year the 501st raised over $2000 in donations for TLC for Kids, and this year with the help of the Jedi and Rebel alliance, hope to do even better. Once again, they will be displaying their recreation of the Mos Eisley Cantina booth where in a flash of red laser, Greedo met his end at the hands of Han Solo. The argument of who shot first has raged for several years now with fans in both the Greedo and Solo camps. Come decided for yourself as you sit in Han Solo’s seat and see if you can out draw the Rodian bountyhunter.

For over 10 years now, the 501st Legion and their sister organisation, the Rebel legion, have been bringing the joy of Star Wars, honing the art of costumes and props and contributing to the community through charity and volunteer work. Together, they are Lucasfilms preferred costuming clubs. With over 150 Star Wars costumers from both clubs all over Australia, whereever you see quality Stormtroopers and Jedi, you are seeing the Legions best at work.

From June 3 to November 22 2009, ScienceWorks at Spotswood will be home to many wonderful Star Wars Props, Models and Costumes from all six films, whilst Museums Victoria presents ‘Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination’ and the 501st Legions, Knightfall Squad, as well as members of the Rebel Legions; Tatooine Base will be there most weekends.
